We have visited the island of Maui twice, in 2011 and 2019.
In 2011, we rented a car and drove across the island and down the Hana Road and enjoyed investigating the island at our own speed.
In 2019, we played tourist and took a cruise ship arranged whale watching expedition which was well run but not terribly exciting.
We see some of the same whale action off the coast of our Oregon home.
